Every action we take has an impact on the environment. That could be good… or it could be bad… and it’s up to us to care for this beautiful world we are a part of. So we feel a responsibility to balance the energy that is used to host all of our websites and the impact that has on the environment.
A company called Digital Ocean manages the virtual infrastructure for our servers, and they use two companies in North America for the physical infrastructure: Equinix, and Digital Reality. These various companies have green targets but don’t fully run on renewable energy yet. We are researching several options to offset this energy use, and welcome any suggestions you may have. We hope to have a clear plan in place by the end of July 2021.
